All 11 people aboard a Kenmore Air seaplane were rescued after the aircraft made an emergency landing near Sucia Island in Washington state before catching fire.
The plane, carrying 10 passengers and one pilot, crashed shortly after departing Seattle’s Lake Union. Several passengers sustained injuries ranging from lacerations to broken bones, with one person reported in critical condition.
The U.S. Coast Guard, alongside Canadian and local emergency responders, carried out the rescue operation. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched investigations into the cause of the crash.
