Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou continues his quest to transition to the top of the boxing world on Friday when he faces two-time former unified champion Anthony Joshua. The action goes down from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia live on pay-per-view.
Ngannou nearly pulled off a shocking victory in his first trip to the boxing ring when he pushed WBC champion Tyson Fury to the limits, scoring a knockdown and losing by split decision. Once again, Ngannou will fight in a 10-round bout with one of the best heavyweight boxers on the planet.
Joshua lost his IBF, WBO and WBA titles to Oleksandr Usyk and lost again in the rematch. Since that defeat, Joshua has won three consecutive fights.
Also on the card, Rey Vargas defends his WBC featherweight championship against undefeated rising contender Nick Ball and WBO interim heavyweight champion Zhilei Zhang defends his status as mandatory title challenger against Joseph Parker, who is fresh off a victory over former WBC champ Deontay Wilder.
