‘Build a Democracy that Reduces Friction,’ Jonathan Tells Tinubu

Goodluck Jonathan, the former president, counseled President Bola Tinubu to support a democracy in which every person is allowed the freedom to express themselves without hindrance.

He made an appeal on Tuesday during a one-day symposium held in the Banquet Hall of the State House Abuja to commemorate 25 years of uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria.

Let’s work together to create a Nigeria where everyone has a voice, there are plenty of possibilities, and the prospect of a better tomorrow is a reality.

“We cannot leave our children with a democracy based on politics of race or religion.

The National Assembly may also examine models that are appropriate for us. The causes of this “do or die” politics need to be addressed. It hinders the consolidation of democracy,” he declared.
