In observance of Eid-ul-Adha, the Federal Government of Nigeria has designated Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, 2024, as public holidays. Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, made this declaration on Friday.
The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, had earlier declared Sunday, June 16, as Eid-el-Kabir day, confirming Friday as the first day of Dhul Hijjah.
The Federal Government assured citizens of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, and encouraged all Nigerians to take responsibility for building a prosperous nation for future generations.
