Nigeria’s U17 girls, Flamingos have qualified for the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic after a 2-0 win over Liberia at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Friday.
The Bankole Olowookere-led side won the first leg in Monrovia 4-1 and completed the job in front of their fans in Abuja to book a place in the competition in style.
The victory took the aggregate tally to 6-1 in favour of Nigeria, with extraordinary poacher Harmony Chidi setting a record of 13 goals in a qualifying series that will be difficult to equal in years to come.
