On Thursday, protesters descended upon the Kaduna State Government House, demanding that Governor Uba Sani extend an invitation to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and other pertinent law enforcement organizations to apprehend and prosecute Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, his predecessor, in light of the latter’s criminal indictment by the state House of Assembly.
In a recent investigation report, the state Assembly charged El-Rufai and a few of his appointees for stealing N423 billion from the state’s funds.
Large crowds of demonstrators organized by Kaduna Citizens Watch for Good Governance assembled at approximately 11 a.m. and marched from the well-known UTC Bus Stop along Sokoto Road to the main gate of the state capital of Kaduna, which is home to Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House.
