Federal Govt Slashes Stranded Foreign Scholars Allowances

The Federal Government has declared a 12.7% reduction in the allowances of foreign students who are now stuck in places like Algeria, Morocco, and Russia because of Nigeria’s economic difficulties.

The Federal Government’s Bilateral Educational Agreement Scholarship was created to promote educational interaction between Nigeria and its partner nations, and it is being utilized by the students.

A document signed by the Federal Scholarship Board’s director, Ndajiwo H.A., and the minister of education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, included the Federal Government’s decision to reduce the scholars’ allowances.
