Following the Federal Government’s announcement that student loans will be provided under the NELFUND program, the National Association of Nigerian Students has issued a warning to heads of tertiary institutions about the outrageous hike in tuition prices.
“The leadership of NANS is ready to wage war against any school that increases tuition fees under the guise of the student loan scheme.”
To reduce the suffering experienced by students, it also demanded an instantaneous and significant drop in tuition costs for all tertiary institutions in the nation.
The student body advised its members to maintain composure and wait for the Federal Government to respond to its demands on the planned large-scale protests against the present economic circumstances.
