FG Warns Against Foreign Interference to Protest

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, says the Federal Government (FG) won’t accept any foreign interference in the aftermath of the violence that trailed the #EndBadGovernance protests in the country.

When he met with members of the diplomatic corps in Abuja on Wednesday, he made this declaration and issued a warning: the government will not spare anybody who finances demonstrations from both inside and outside of Nigeria.

While the government is working hard to solve the issues facing Nigeria and Nigerians via its numerous reform programs and policies, Tuggar stated, “It is pertinent to remind us that no nation tolerates foreign interference in its domestic affairs or that of its citizens.” Nigeria is no different.

“Any foreign entity that resides in Nigeria and is found to have supported the protesters directly or indirectly through any means, or to be attempting to meddle in the internal affairs of the nation, will face appropriate action from the government.”

“Nigeria cherishes and continues to value the cordial relationships that happily subsist between her and your countries and organizations and will not do anything to undermine or take for granted such relationships.
