The announcement of Ayoola’s passing was made in a statement on Wednesday by Musa Aliyu, the ICPC Chairman.
It was reported on Tuesday that Ayoola, the second chairman of the ICPC, passed away at the age of ninety-one.
He was the Chairman of the Commission from 2005 till 2010, taking over from Mustapha Akanbi.
Ayoola performed a variety of services for Nigeria. After being appointed to a high court in 1976, he advanced through the ranks to the position of Supreme Court justice.
He studied at several institutions, including the University of London and Oxford University London
Ayoola was born in Ilesha, Osun State, on October 27, 1933. He completed his elementary education at Temidire Model School from 1939 to 1943 and his intermediate school at Ilesha Grammar School from 1944 to 1950.
The deceased jurist graduated from law school in 1957.
Ayoola was awarded the Nigerian National Honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) for his meritorious service to Nigeria and humanity in 2003.
