NBA Protests in Oyo as EFCC Releases Arrested Attorney

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released a lawyer, Phillip Tunji Ojo, who has been in its facility in Oyo State.

About a day after being taken into custody by the Ibadan anti-graft agency, Ojo was freed.

Following his arrest, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) members peacefully demonstrated, calling for their colleague’s unconditional release.

Lawal claimed that to express their displeasure with the lawyer’s alleged illegal and unlawful incarceration while performing his legal duties and to stop the EFCC’s ongoing persecution of solicitors, a demonstration was required.
