His resignation was made known in a statement signed by the media aide to President Bola Tinubu, Ajuri Ngelale on Monday.
Ngelale also announced the appointment of new Directors-General for the DSS and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), whose DG Ahmed Abubakar had earlier tendered his resignation to the President on Saturday.
He served variously in different capacities including as the State Director of Security (SDS) in Jigawa, Niger, Sokoto and Abia States.
He also served as a Director in all the National Headquarters Directorates namely; Security Enforcement, Operations, Intelligence, Inspectorate, Administration and Finance, National Assembly Liaison, and the State Services Academy, Lagos, one of the training institutions of the Service.
