DG Says NYSC Will Soon Raise Corps Members’ Allowance

Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have received assurances from Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the NYSC Director General, that once civil servants start earning the recently authorised minimum wage, their monthly allowance will be doubled.

The NYSC’s acting director of communications and public relations, Caroline Embu, signed an announcement claiming that Brigadier General Ahmed had given the promise to corps members in the Kebbi State Orientation Camp in Dakingari and the Sokoto State Orientation Camp in Wamakko.

He told the corps members that their efforts are deeply appreciated and urged them to maintain their important contributions to the socioeconomic growth of the nation.

Additionally, the D-G urged the corps members to maximize their service year by emphasizing self-improvement and future success planning.

He specifically recommended that they take advantage of the NYSC’s SAED program, which provides vocational training with the goal of promoting self-reliance.

Instead of just looking for work, try to develop the abilities necessary to create jobs and hire people. He remarked, “Many former members of the Corps are doing well in their separate fields of work now around the nation.
