According to the Federal Government, $175 million in private sector investments in vital infrastructure have been made possible in the past year by the presidential Compress Natural Gas initiative.
The information was provided in a statement on X on Tuesday by Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.
He claims that the number of conversion centers in Nigeria has increased from seven to 125 in the past year.
Idris added that the main benefit is that CNG is far less expensive than petrol and diesel, which will contribute to a nearly 60% reduction in the cost of travel and commuting.
He declared, “The cost of transportation and commuting is one of the biggest issues facing the nation right now due to the removal of the petrol subsidy.”
“As a result, a nationwide initiative to establish compressed natural gas (CNG) as the preferred car fuel in Nigeria has been initiated and implemented.
Additionally, it is better for the environment and cleaner fuel.
