According to Bureau De Change operators in Lagos and Abuja, the value of the naira fell on Wednesday at 1,705/dollar on the black market.
Aliyu Sani, a BDC operator in Lagos, told The PUNCH that he purchased dollars at 1,695/$ and sold them for N1705. At N1,700, the pricing was lower in Abuja.
According to Suraju Ajao, a currency trader, he bought dollars for $1,690/$ and sold them for $1,700.
The Naira depreciated by 0.04 percent from its Tuesday trading price of 1658.97/$ to conclude trading at 1659.69/$ on the Nigerian Autonomous Forex Exchange Market, which is based on the FMDQ Securities.
On the official market, the naira traded at a high of 1,682/$ and a low of 1,562.97/$.
The value of the naira reached a new low on Monday, closing at 1,700/dollar, a 0.29 per cent decline compared to N1,695 to the dollar, which it exchanged last week Friday.
