According to Prof. Muhammad Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, the ministry will release the nation’s first state of health report.
Prof. Pate clarified during a press conference in Abuja that the study will offer a thorough evaluation of the state of the country’s healthcare system and lay out the future course for the industry.
According to him, the report would be based on the next Nigeria Health Sector-Wide Joint Annual Review, which is set for November 6–8.
Speaking further, the minister who revealed that a People’s Voices Survey that was conducted, interviewing almost 2,500 Nigerians, to get their perception of the health sector, will be reviewed next week at the JAR.
In addition, he mentioned that a health report will now be submitted annually to the national legislature for consideration by the president, who will subsequently distribute it to Nigerians.
During the event, Prof. Pate also revealed that President Bola Tinubu had authorised the transfer of N10 billion for the Medical Relief Program, which will provide essential medications to people in need, particularly those impacted by flooding.
