The Federal Government has released funds to pay withheld salaries of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Federal Universities (NASU).
The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) announced this in an Abuja statement.
The FG has also made money available for retiree payments under the Nigerian Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme Sector (NUPCPS), according to the OAGF.
According to the OAGF, payments to Federal Universities’ non-academic staff have begun, and numerous recipients have attested to their receipt.
The office reaffirmed its dedication to effectively addressing the welfare of Nigerian retirees and employees.
The development comes on the heels of the commencement of a nationwide strike by NASU and the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) on Sunday.
