At 6:44 am, LASEMA received urgent distress calls via our 767/112 toll-free emergency hotline. Our Response Team quickly mobilized to the scene, where a Volvo truck, Toyota HiAce bus, and Mercedes Benz bus were involved in a tragic collision.
Upon Investigation:
The Volvo truck, carrying goods and heading inward Arepo, collided with a moving Mercedes Benz bus, veered off the road, and overturned onto a stationary Toyota HiAce bus.
Sadly, a police officer from Mopol 20 Division, who was riding a motorcycle, became trapped in the incident and tragically lost his life.
The casualty was respectfully extricated.
The involved truck and Toyota HiAce were successfully recovered.
Recovery operations were swiftly concluded with the support of the Nigeria Police Force and Ogun State traffic officials.
Our thoughts are with the family of the fallen officer and all those affected.
