Troops of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke, have conducted series of clearance operations across multiple bandit hideouts in Taraba State.
Following intensive stakeholder engagements, clearance missions, and successful confidence-building patrols in the northern portion of the state, the operation code-named “OP GOLDEN PEACE” got underway.
The operation’s most recent phase, which focused on known terrorist and bandit hideouts in Lijem High Ground, started on November 28, 2024, in Takum Local Government Area.
Troops cleared the areas and extended their presence along the power line near Vingiri and Vingir villages, reassuring and boosting the confidence of local residents.
