St. Finbarr’s Road, five others in Akoka, Bariga, Gbagada also listed
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is set to commission a network of five roads in Ikeja Government Reservation Area (GRA) on Friday, January 10, 2025.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho, the governor will also inaugurate six roads spanning 4.7 kilometers across Akoka, Bariga, and Gbagada on Thursday, January 9.
Omotosho noted that these projects reaffirm the Sanwo-Olu administration’s commitment to delivering modern and durable infrastructure to ease transportation and improve the quality of life in Lagos.
“The 4.7-kilometre arterial roads to be commissioned on Thursday, January 9, include St. Finbarr’s Road, Asani Street, Tijani Ashogbon Street, Jagunmolu Street, Shogbamu Street, and Diya Street, which traverse the University of Lagos Main Gate in Akoka to Deeper Life Church in Gbagada,” Omotosho said.
“In Ikeja GRA, five strategic roads—Oba Dosumu Street, Oduduwa Way, Oduduwa Crescent, Sobo Arobiodu, and Sasegbon Streets—measuring 6.134 kilometers, with an upgraded drainage network to address perennial flooding, will be commissioned on Friday, January 10.”
The commissioner called on residents to cooperate with the state government to protect the newly completed roads from vandalism.
He also reiterated the administration’s resolve to continue upgrading existing roads and constructing new ones to fulfill Governor Sanwo-Olu promises to Lagosian.
