President Tinubu Jets Out To Paris On ‘Working Visit’

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu left for Paris, France, for a brief working visit.

A video shared by the Presidency showed the President greeting senior government officials before boarding the Presidential aircraft.

At the airport to see him off were key figures, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; Minister of Finance, Wale Edun; FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike; Budget and Economic Planning Minister, Atiku Bagudu; and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, among others.

An earlier statement from Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, outlined that the President’s visit would focus on assessing his administration’s mid-term performance and reviewing key milestones.

President Tinubu will also use this time to evaluate the progress of ongoing reforms and engage in strategic planning ahead of his administration’s second anniversary.

“This period of reflection will help shape plans to deepen current reforms and speed up national development priorities for the coming year,” Onanuga said. “Recent economic gains, including a notable increase in net foreign exchange reserves to $23.11 billion—up from $3.99 billion in 2023—highlight the success of the President’s fiscal reforms.”

While in Paris, President Tinubu will remain actively engaged with his team, continuing to oversee governance activities.

He is expected to return to Nigeria in about two weeks, as stated in the announcement.
