FC Barcelona won against Real Madrid in the 2025 Copa del Rey final.
The match took place on Saturday, in Seville It was a thrilling encounter that ended 3-2 in favor of Barcelona after extra time at the Estadio La Cartuja de Sevilla, Seville.
Pedri put them ahead in the 28th minute with a brilliant curling strike into the top corner from outside the box in a first half dominated by Barca.
However, Madrid took control in the second half as Kylian Mbappé, who was absent from the starting XI as he has yet to regain full fitness from an ankle injury, came off the bench to score the equaliser from a free kick in the 70th minute.
Aurélien Tchouaméni gave Real Madrid the lead seven minutes later with a towering header from a corner before Ferran Torres found the equaliser in a counterattack in the 84th minute that took the game to extra time.
Jules Kounde scored the winning goal for Barcelona in the 116th minute.
This victory marks FC Barcelona’s record-extending 32nd Copa del Rey title. It is also the first major trophy under their new coach, Hansi Flick, and keeps their hopes alive for a potential quadruple this season, as they are also in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League and competing in the final weeks of La Liga.
This is the third consecutive El Clasico defeat for Real Madrid in all competitions.
There was also some controversy surrounding the refereeing decisions during and after the match, with Real Madrid having three players sent off after the final whistle.
