Chairman NiDCOM urges Diaspora Nigerians to Support ‘Nigeria First’ Policy for National Growth and Development

The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has called on Nigerians in the diaspora to actively engage in the country’s ongoing reform efforts as they are aimed at national growth and development.

A statement by Abdur-Raman Balogun, Media, Public Relations and Protocol, NIDCOM, indicates Abike Dabiri-Arewa disclosed this in a video chat where she also highlighted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s introduction of a new executive order known as the ‘Nigeria First Policy’ is designed to prioritise the following: Nigeria-centric matters, promote locally made products, and provide home-grown solutions to government procurement.

She emphasised that the Nigeria First Policy comes at a critical time and would need Nigerians, home and abroad, working collaboratively with the current administration to build a more sustainable and forward-looking nation.

It adds the NIDCOM boss, Urges Nigerians abroad to buy into the policy, “My brothers and sisters in the diaspora, this is an opportunity to key into this Initiative. This is an opportunity to bring your expertise, knowledge, and talents back home to Nigeria.”

While assuring Nigerians in the diaspora that the Commission would continue to partner with them in various capacities, she commended them for excelling in various spheres around the world. Abike Dabiri-Arewa, therefore, called on Nigerians in the diaspora to join hands with the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration to “ grow “ Nigeria.”
