Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a fuel tanker ingeniously modified to smuggle illicit drugs across Nigeria.

This was revealed on Sunday via a post on X.com by the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi. He said NDLEA operatives, during a targeted stop-and-search operation, discovered a specially constructed hidden compartment in the tanker’s belly — designed solely for drug trafficking.

Sharing a video of the discovery, Babafemi wrote:
“Narco-trend: Fuel tanker on top but drug tanker beneath! Watch how #ndlea_nigeria officers uncovered a large storage space crafted inside the tanker for the purpose of moving drugs across the country.”
