Property worth millions of naira has been destroyed after a fire broke out at a furniture workshop and a church in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. The incident occurred on Saturday at Sogoye, Bode, in Ibadan.

Moroof Akinwande, the state Chairman of the Fire Services Agency and Special Adviser on Fire Services Reform to Governor Seyi Makinde, confirmed the fire on Sunday in Ibadan.

He explained, “An emergency call reporting the fire was made at exactly 15:49hrs on Saturday, May 10, 2025, through the security trust fund toll-free number 615. The fire occurred at the aforementioned location.”

Akinwande continued, “Fire personnel, led by ACFS Olubunmi, were promptly deployed to the scene. Upon arrival, it was found that both a prefabricated furniture workshop and a church had been affected by the fire.”
