The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially submitted the names of Ezenwafor Jude as its governorship candidate and Okeke Francis Chukwudi as his running mate for the upcoming Anambra State gubernatorial election, scheduled for November 8, 2025.
This confirmation came through a letter dated May 7, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The letter was acknowledged and stamped as received by INEC on May 12, 2025.
Signed by the PDP’s Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, and the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the letter informed the electoral body of the outcome of the party’s primary election in Anambra State, which was monitored by INEC.
“We write to inform the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that Ezenwafor Jude C. is the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP’s) gubernatorial candidate for the November 8, 2025, Anambra State Gubernatorial Election, having emerged winner of the party’s gubernatorial primary held in Anambra State and monitored by the Commission,” the statement read.
The party also disclosed the nomination of Hon. Okeke Francis Chukwudi as the deputy governorship candidate.
The PDP noted that all necessary documents had been submitted in compliance with INEC’s requirements, including Forms EC-9, EC-9B, and EC-13B for both candidates.
“We hereby forward the Credentials/Particulars of both the candidate and running mate,” the party stated.
The letter concluded with an appeal for acknowledgment and a reaffirmation of the party’s commitment to due process.
“Your cooperation in this regard will be highly appreciated. Kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter and accept the assurances of our highest esteem and regards,” it added.
