The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh cut in the pump prices of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) nationwide.
Petrol prices have been revised downward, now ranging from ₦875 to ₦905 per litre depending on the region, according to a new pricing template released by the refinery.
A regional breakdown of the new rates shows:
- Lagos: ₦875
- South-West: ₦885
- North-East: ₦905
- North-West & Central: ₦895
- South-South & South-East: ₦905
This adjustment reflects a ₦15 per litre reduction across all regions and applies to major fuel marketers partnering with the refinery, including MRS, Ardova, Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy.
Previously, Lagos residents paid ₦890 per litre, while prices peaked at ₦920 in the North-East and South-South regions. With the new pricing, Lagos now sees rates drop to ₦875, while North-East and South-South residents will pay ₦905.
“Our high-quality petrol and diesel are refined for optimal engine performance and are environmentally friendly,” the company stated in an official notice.
The price reduction follows a recent announcement by the 650,000-barrel-per-day Lekki-based refinery, which credited the naira-for-crude agreement for enabling the lower pump prices.
In a release signed by Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer Anthony Chiejina, the company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining price stability as a way to support the Nigerian economy and ease the financial pressure on consumers.
“The prices of our petrol will remain both affordable and stable,” the statement concluded.
