The Benue State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police CP Emenari Ifeanyi, has stepped up security measures in key trouble spots across the state, especially in Apa and Gwer West Local Government Areas, following recent deadly attacks.
Suspected bandits have renewed assaults on communities in Apa Naka, Gwer West LGA, resulting in multiple casualties.
In response, CP Emenari has ordered the immediate deployment of additional tactical units to bolster the existing security presence in the affected areas.
State Police PRO Udeme Edet explained that these reinforcements aim to enhance surveillance, secure all entry and exit routes, and prevent further unprovoked attacks.
She stated, “The Commissioner of Police reassures residents of the Command’s steadfast commitment to restoring peace and order and pledges to relentlessly pursue those responsible until justice is served.
“He also extends condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, promising that every effort will be made to safeguard lives and property throughout Benue State.
“The Command calls on the public to stay alert and support security agencies by providing timely and reliable information to assist ongoing operations.”
