The Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Abayomi Akinruntan, and the Majority Leader, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, have officially resigned from their leadership roles.
Akinruntan, who represents Ilaje Constituency 1, and Ogunmolasuyi, representing Owo Constituency 1, are both lawmakers under the All Progressives Congress (APC). Their resignations were announced during Tuesday’s plenary session, presided over by Speaker Olamide Oladiji.
Akinruntan explained that his decision was in line with ongoing political power-sharing agreements within the state.
Following their exit, Ololade Gbegudu (Okitipupa Constituency 2) has been appointed as the new Deputy Speaker, while Olatunji Oshati (Ose Constituency) has taken over as Majority Leader.
