The Federal Government has declared Thursday, 12th June 2025, as a public holiday to commemorate this year’s Democracy Day celebration.
The Honourable Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, speaking on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated Nigerians on the celebration of 26 years of uninterrupted democratic rule.
This message was conveyed in a statement signed by Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, and released on Sunday.
Emphasizing that democracy thrives through continuous improvement, the Honourable Minister reaffirmed the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope administration to upholding democratic values anchored in the freely expressed will of the people, which shapes Nigeria’s political, economic, social, and cultural landscape.
