The Labour Party’s governorship candidate in Anambra State, George Moghalu, has named Ifeoma Okaro as his running mate for the upcoming November 8 election.
Moghalu expressed strong confidence in the party’s readiness for the race, unveiling Okaro during a meeting with ward chairmen, councillors, and women leaders in Awka on Friday.
Okaro, a retired educationist from Ogbunike in Oyi Local Government Area, previously served as chairperson of the Anambra State Post Primary Schools Service Commission. She currently leads the Education Directorate of the Anglican Communion in Anambra.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, which drew party members and key stakeholders, Moghalu said Okaro’s selection came after extensive consultations. He emphasized that the decision was part of a deliberate effort to promote gender balance and build a credible, inclusive ticket.
