President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja on Saturday night after a two-week diplomatic mission to Saint Lucia and Brazil, concluding his recent international trip.
At the presidential wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, he was welcomed by top government officials, including Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, former Sokoto State Governor Senator Aliyu Wamakko, and Alhaji Ibrahim Masari.
Tinubu departed Abuja on June 28, 2025, beginning his trip with a state visit to Saint Lucia to strengthen ties with Caribbean nations and promote South-South cooperation. His visit coincided with Saint Lucia’s 45th Independence Anniversary.
On July 4, the President traveled to Brazil to attend the 2025 BRICS Summit, held from July 6 to 7 in Rio de Janeiro. The summit gathered leaders of emerging economies to discuss sustainable development and global economic reforms.
Tinubu’s aircraft, a San Marino-registered BBJ (REG: T7-NAS), left Galeão International Airport on Saturday at 12:50 p.m. local time (4:50 p.m. Nigerian time) en route to Nigeria.
This trip adds to Tinubu’s extensive international engagements since taking office in May 2023.
