Buhari: Katsina Roads Deserted As Govt Declares Work-Free Day

Several streets in Katsina State appeared deserted on Monday, July 14, 2025, after Governor Dikko Radda declared the day a work-free day to honour the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

While some students, unaware of the holiday, were seen returning home from public and private schools, the general atmosphere across areas like Modoji, Kwado, Kofar Kaura, Kofar Kwaya, and Kambarawa was one of mourning and reflection.

The declaration was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Faskari, who explained in a Sunday statement that the holiday was to allow residents and workers in Buhari’s home state to join the nation in mourning and offer prayers for the former leader.
