Osun APC Denies Adeleke’s Defection Claim, Says No Pressure from Presidency

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims that Governor Ademola Adeleke has defected to the party, urging the public to disregard such speculation.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Osogbo by the party’s spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, the APC accused Adeleke’s administration of deliberately spreading false information about his alleged defection.

“We categorically and unequivocally state that the claim being circulated by the governor and his allies—that he has joined our party—is a complete falsehood. There is no truth to it, nor is such a move being considered at any level within our party,” the statement read.

The party further refuted reports suggesting that the Presidency was pressuring Adeleke to join the APC.

“At no point has the Presidency exerted any pressure on Governor Adeleke to defect, contrary to the rumours being pushed by his associates and political allies,” Olabisi said.

Reaffirming the party’s unity and stability, the statement concluded, “We want to assure our numerous members and supporters that Governor Adeleke has not joined the APC, and our party remains strong and cohesive.”
