Justice Maryanne Anenih of the FCT High Court has clarified that the travel passport of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello is not in her court’s custody but with the Federal High Court, Abuja.
At Thursday’s hearing on EFCC’s money laundering case against Bello, Justice Anenih said the application to release his passport could not be entertained as it’s not held by her court.
The former governor had sought the release of the passport for medical travel. His lawyer, Joseph Daudu (SAN), confirmed the document was deposited with the Federal High Court as earlier directed.
Justice Anenih adjourned the matter to October 8, 9, and November 13, 2025, for continuation of hearing.
