The statutory National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Labour Party (LP) has appointed Senator Usman Nenadi as the Interim National Chairman and Senator Darlington Nwokocha as the Interim National Secretary, along with other members of an interim working committee.
The appointments were made on Friday during the party’s NEC meeting held in Abuja.
The interim committee will manage the party’s affairs until a new NEC is elected at the upcoming national convention.
Among other resolutions reached at the meeting was the approval of a timetable for conducting ward, local government, state, zonal congresses, and the party’s National Convention.
The party’s National Secretariat has been directed to release detailed guidelines and timelines to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections across all levels.
