Iran Slams Europe Over Failure to Uphold 2015 Nuclear Deal

Tehran has accused Britain, France, and Germany of failing to honour their commitments under the 2015 nuclear agreement, following their recent threat to reimpose sanctions on Iran over its atomic activities.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei stated on Monday that “the European parties have been at fault and negligent in implementing” the deal, which was originally signed to limit Iran’s nuclear programme in return for sanctions relief.

The deal began to unravel in 2018 after the United States, under former President Donald Trump, pulled out and reimposed sanctions. Despite European promises to keep the deal alive, Iran says little has been done to shield it from the economic fallout.
