NASS Showdown: Senate Warns Natasha Against Forced Resumption

The Senate has cautioned suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) against any attempt to forcefully resume legislative duties on Tuesday.

Senate spokesperson Yemi Adaramodu issued the warning on Sunday, stating that no valid court order currently mandates her reinstatement.

According to Adaramodu, the Senate remains committed to due process and the rule of law. He clarified that the court ruling, contrary to media reports, only gave an advisory urging the Senate to review its decision—not a binding directive for her immediate recall.

He emphasized that previous statements by the Senate already addressed the matter and confirmed there was no legal compulsion for her return before her suspension ends.
