Over 100 aid and human rights organizations, including MSF, Oxfam, and Save the Children, have sounded a grave warning about “mass starvation” rapidly spreading across Gaza due to ongoing conflict and aid blockages.
The groups say the humanitarian crisis has reached catastrophic levels, with over two million Gazans facing extreme food shortages. Many are reportedly “wasting away.”
The UN reported that over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed while trying to access food since late May, as the US- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) displaced the traditional UN-led aid system.
Despite these claims, Israel insists it’s not blocking supplies, citing 950 trucks of aid already inside Gaza awaiting pickup by aid agencies. A senior Israeli official claimed no starvation has been officially identified, but admitted urgent action is needed.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military continues operations across Gaza, with deadly airstrikes reported. The civil defence agency said 17 people, including a pregnant woman, were killed overnight in Gaza City.
The US is sending a top envoy to Europe for talks on a potential ceasefire and humanitarian aid corridor.
