Academic activities at Lagos State University have been suspended following an indefinite strike by staff unions.
The strike, which started Thursday, was triggered by unresolved issues with university management. The Joint Action Committee—comprising ASUU, SSANU, NASU, and NAAT—officially announced the strike in a letter dated July 31, 2025, addressed to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello.
The notice, obtained by Channels Television, was signed by union leaders from ASUU-LASU and SSANU-LASU, instructing all university staff at LASU, including the College of Medicine (LASUCOM) and the Epe campus, to immediately withdraw their services and vacate their posts.
