Justice Ekerete Akpan of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has convicted 21 foreign nationals involved in cybercrime, sentencing each to pay a ₦1 million fine and leave Nigeria within six working days.
The judgment followed a plea bargain agreement between the convicts and the Nigeria Police Force.
“All gadgets used in the crimes are to be forfeited to the Federal Government,” the judge ruled.
The convicts are part of a group of 109 foreign nationals being prosecuted for cybercrime, money laundering, and national security threats.
