The Federal Government has disbursed the second tranche of the ₦35,000 wage award arrears owed to federal civil servants, the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) confirmed on Friday.
In a statement issued in Abuja and signed by Director of Press and Public Relations, Bawa Mokwa, the OAGF noted that one out of the five months of outstanding payments had previously been settled. With this latest payment, three tranches remain.
The statement also addressed speculation that the government had abandoned the payments, clarifying that it remains committed to clearing the arrears. The wage award will continue to be paid in monthly installments of ₦35,000 until all arrears are fully settled.
