A medical light aircraft crashed into a residential area near Nairobi, Kenya, on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of at least six people and leaving two others seriously injured, according to local authorities.

This tragic incident came just a day after a Ghanaian military helicopter crash claimed the lives of all eight passengers, including the country’s defence and environment ministers.

The Kenyan aircraft, operated by Amref Flying Doctors, departed Nairobi’s Wilson Airport at 2:17 p.m. local time (1100 GMT) and was headed for Somaliland. It went down in Ruiru, Kiambu County, shortly after 3:00 p.m. (1200 GMT).
