PDP’s Oyekunle wins Ibadan North federal constituency by-election

Folajinmi Oyekunle, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has emerged victorious in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election conducted across the 12 wards on Saturday.

The announcement was made by the Returning Officer from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Abiodun Oluwadare of the University of Ibadan, at the collation centre located at Ikolaba High School, Ibadan.

According to Oluwadare, Oyekunle secured 18,404 votes, defeating his closest rival, Adewale Olatunji (popularly known as Murphy) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 8,312 votes.

Femi Akin-Alamu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) received 88 votes, while Olabisi Olajumoke of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) polled 40 votes.
