FIFA President condemns racial abuse in German Cup matches

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has strongly condemned incidents of racial abuse reported during two German Cup games over the weekend, calling the actions “unacceptable.”

“There is no place for racism in football,” Infantino stated on Monday.

One incident occurred during Lokomotive Leipzig vs. Schalke, where Christopher Antwi-Adjei reported racial abuse from home fans. Though the match resumed after a PA announcement, the player was later booed by the crowd. Lokomotive issued an apology.

Another case was reported by a Kaiserslautern player at RSV Eintracht, also alleging racial abuse from a spectator.
