Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, has called on Nigerians to actively participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), stressing that the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) is a powerful tool for shaping the future of the country.
In a post shared on X, Obi described the PVC as “the voice of the voiceless, the shield of the weak, and the weapon of the poor against injustice and bad leadership.”
He encouraged all eligible citizens not to underestimate the importance of their voter cards, noting that “the future of our dear nation is in your hands. The greatest strength of democracy lies in the voter’s card.”
Obi also urged Nigerians to stay organised and vigilant, pointing out that collective action is key to making election rigging more difficult. He cautioned against vote selling, stating that politicians who buy votes are often only interested in gaining access to public funds for personal enrichment.
According to the former Anambra State governor, active voter participation is crucial to building a new Nigeria rooted in justice, accountability, and good governance.
