ICYMI: Court concvicts another 3 Fraudsters arrested in Abeokuta

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has convicted another three internet fraudsters arrested by the Economic and Financial crimes Commission at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library complex, Abeokuta, Ogun state.

Roll on: the vacation judge, Justice Dehinde Dipeolu gave the verdict on after the defendants pleaded guilty to the charges of various cybercrime-related offences filed against them by the anti graft agency.

In his judgment, Justice Dipeolu sentenced the trio Adewale Adenekan, Oyatokun Damilola Qudus and Adisa Okikiade to one month imprisonment, with an option of a N300,000 fine.

Similarly, Oyatokun Damilola Qudus was convicted and sentenced to one month imprisonment, with an option of a N300,000 fine.

Adisa Okikiade, who faced a one-count charge, pleaded guilty and was equally convicted, with an option of a fine.

Adisa Okikiade, had between 2024 to 2025, claimed to be Anthony Krenn, Adenekan Adewole Ayinde, in August 2025 in Lagos, claimed to be a woman from the United States on Google account: 19374@gmail, and Oyatokun Damilola Qudus, in August 2025 in Lagos, used Instagram page @ericmelissa as Eric Melissa, a white female, thereby all committed offences contrary to and punishable under Section 22 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015.”
