Rice farmers in Yauri, Ngaski, and Shanga LGAs of Kebbi State are seeking urgent intervention after floods from River Niger destroyed their farms.
The devastating flood has wiped out produce worth millions of naira, leaving hundreds of farmers in distress. Many say they invested heavily this season, only to see their hopes of a bountiful harvest washed away.
Shuaibu Gidanbindigawa, one of the affected farmers, described the incident as strange and unlike anything they’ve seen before.
