Israeli Protesters Demand Hostage Deal Ahead of Security Cabinet Meeting

Demonstrators calling for an end to the Gaza war and the safe return of hostages rallied across Israel on Tuesday, just hours before a scheduled security cabinet meeting.

In Tel Aviv, protesters blocked roads, waved Israeli flags, and held up photos of hostages, according to AFP reporters. Additional protests were held near the U.S. embassy branch and outside ministers’ residences.

Ruby Chen, whose son was abducted in October 2023, criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying he prioritizes Hamas’s destruction over the lives of Israeli hostages.

“He thinks sacrificing 50 hostages is a valid political choice,” Chen told crowds at one of the demonstrations.
