Paris Saint-Germain has officially announced the signing of Nigerian striker Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade on a contract running until June 30, 2027. The club confirmed the Super Falcons captain’s arrival in a statement released on Tuesday.
A Major Career Move
Ajibade, affectionately known as “Mummy G.O.,” expressed her excitement following the move, describing it as a significant milestone in her career.
“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, one of the top clubs in Europe,” she told the club’s official website. “This is a major step for me, and I’m fully committed to helping PSG win titles while inspiring young footballers in Nigeria and beyond.”
The 25-year-old forward joins PSG from Atlético Madrid Femenino, where she spent four and a half seasons. During her time in Spain, Ajibade made 139 appearances, scoring 40 goals and playing a key role in Atlético’s victories in the 2021 Spanish Super Cup and the 2023 Copa de la Reina. In the 2024/25 season alone, she contributed eight goals and three assists across 25 matches.
Ajibade began her professional journey with FC Robo Queens in Nigeria before moving to Avaldsnes IL in Norway, and then Atlético Madrid in 2021.
Her transfer to PSG comes shortly after captaining the Super Falcons to their historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title. She was named Player of the Tournament—her second WAFCON title—and was instrumental throughout the competition.
Born on December 8, 1999, in the Mushin area of Lagos, Ajibade also represented Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where the Super Falcons reached the Round of 16 before being narrowly eliminated by England.
